Steppe cavalry command ST01 has 3 figures; an officer, a standard bearer and a musician, with AVS23 shields. They are suitable for a load of different Steppe types or as Eastern Sassanids. They are sold as just the riders to allow a choice of horses, we have shown them on H6 half armoured (left and right), H14 fully armoured horse (centre).
From Adam; "These figures can represent Khazars, Gok Turks of the Western Khaganate, Oghuz and Turgish or any other Turkish peoples from the 6th to the eighth century CE. The Khazars in particular allied themselves with Sassanians and Byzantines and were a powerful people in their own right. The Gok Turks are recorded as using horse armour by the Chinese and the other tribes may well have used iron or leather armour also… "
